Opening the Eyes from Spiritual Blindness

Opening the Eyes from Spiritual Blindness requires detachment from this world of formation and recognizing our inner core spirit. Throughout life a clear observation can be noted: a person can read all they like but never come to understand the depths of the truth and spiritual knowledge, an individual can follow religion all their life but never understand the depths of the truth to open the eyes of spiritual blindness, even if a person rids themselves of a religion; an individual can study all their life but never come to understand the depths of spiritual knowledge and open their eyes from spiritual blindness. Taking in knowledge is the originating method to understanding, although the question must be asked; what is the operative prerequisite which will cause a blessing by having the eyes opened to perceive the accurate truth and live it? Isaiah promptly prophesied in chapter 6:8-10,

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

He said, “Go and tell this people:
” ‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding;
be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’

Make the heart of this people calloused;
make their ears dull
and close their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts,
and turn and be healed.”

Jeremiah wrote about the same concept. Both Prophets are writing regarding the waywardness of the Israelites and the results of Idolatry. They of course are applying it in their day, although, both prophesies have proved true down to our day. Note Jeremiah Chapter 5:19-22,

And when the people ask, ‘Why has the LORD our God done all this to us?’ you will tell them, ‘As you have forsaken me and served foreign gods in your own land, so now you will serve foreigners in a land not your own.’

“Announce this to the house of Jacob
and proclaim it in Judah:

Hear this, you foolish and senseless people,
who have eyes but do not see,
who have ears but do not hear:

Should you not fear me?” declares the LORD.
“Should you not tremble in my presence?
I made the sand a boundary for the sea,
an everlasting barrier it cannot cross.
The waves may roll, but they cannot prevail;
they may roar, but they cannot cross it.

Due to the fact that the Israelites blended and intermarried with the Canaanites; the two became one. Consequently, Judaism came out of Babylon attached to worshiping Baal, the wicked one, breaking the first and second commandment. Religion is a form of Idolatry. The result of the failure of the Israelites have effected the whole world. Because of this, the result of the captivity in Babylon and the formation of religion, as we see it today, has caused the masses of the public to be blinded and deaf to the truth.

The masses of the public are not meant to understand. Note what Matthew wrote in chapter 13, Jesus taught in parables for this very reason; Matthew also quotes Isaiah in verses 10-17,

The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”

He replied, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. This is why I speak to them in parables:

Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand. In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:

‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
For this people’s heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.

But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

Considering the masses of people of this earth are not meant to understand, and that a veil as a covering, is hanging over their eyes so they cannot see; what would a person need to do, to be able to understand the truth? An inner motivation wanting to know the truth is essential. Overcoming one’s fear in order to accept the deep levels of the truth is also essential, fear is a trap and stop’s people in their path, the only way to overcome fear is by facing it. Once a person has rid themselves of all types of Idolatry and overcome their fear; humility is a prerequisite. Humility is related with transcending the ego. Each person needs to let go of playing the victim, being in control, and step down of their self-centered highchair. Within this process the person needs to learn what love is by helping out the stranger: giving of your time, not having a concern for anything in return, changing your perception of money and start giving money to the poor; without reference to any type of charity – giving directly to a person in need of food or clothing, doing these things in secret without telling anybody. Forgiving your fellowman, clearing out negative emotion. Jesus clearly taught doing good works in secret is what is noticed from the Almighty Divine; Matthew chapter 6:1-4,

“Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

This human behavior is a prerequisite for a person to granted a blessing. Jesus clearly taught action is involved which comes from the heart, next to foolish words. A person that is arrogant and deluded by their ego will want to draw attention to themselves regarding such “acts of righteousness” which their “acts” won’t mean a thing. An arrogant person may be very knowledgeable in the scriptures, although the arrogant person is deluded to the core, believing their own eyes and actions, thinking they are a special person, all actions are based on attention for one-self. Paul writes to Timothy regarding the behavior and delusion of the arrogant. 2 Timothy 3:1-5,

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

For a person that is involved in those types of behaviors; that person will never understand or see the truth, nor be able to live the way of non-attachment, the action of love, which is righteousness. Many of the billions of people in the earth have a form of godly devotion, although their behavior and ego driven arrogance proves false to its power. Consequently, people are blinded and deaf to the point of never being able to ascertain the depths of spirituality, which the cause stems from the captivity of Babylon which has caused an effect: idolatry, oppressing the poor, selfishness, adultery, dishonest tongue, greed, lovers of pleasure, dishonest gain, without interest for the truth, bearing false witness, coveting, complainers, a non-listening ear, disbelief, materialism. The power of darkness is cunning, powerful, subtle, and wicked.

Cultivating the qualities in the likeness of the light by using action within a person’s life, is the only way, a person will be able to ascertain the accurate truth, retain what is read, and live it. The Almighty Divine, Grand Source of all is the only one who can grant a clear vision and opened ears to the diligent truth seeker. For a person to be able to clearly ascertain and understand the depths of what Moses was teaching in itself; a blessing must be granted. The motivations of the heart can be changed by circumcising the heart through action. The Almighty Divine can help change the heart, because the Creator resides within.
